Italy's Greatest Art Collection
Italy’s Finest Art Collection
Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Michelangelo, Titian, Caravaggio and many others. All the great masters are in one place: the Uffizi Gallery.
The Gallery is a must visit for art lovers while in Florence. Started by Giorgio Vasari in the 1560’s, the Uffizi hosted the magistrates offices (government secretaries) under the Medici and Lorena rule. During the centuries the art contained within grew as the Medici’s were expanding their art collection, which remained private until the 18th century when the Gallery opened to the public and became one of the oldest and finest art museum in the world.
